Press command+shift+H, as in hang up, but make sure before you do so that you're in the Skype Window. In othewr words, it won't work if you're say, out on your Finder, or say, in the ITunes window, etc.
Make sure that you command+tab over to skype, then you should be able to then hit command+shift+H and it'll do it.
At this point, I think you'll be in a chat window where you could text chat, so you might have to hit command+W a few times to be certained you're back at the main screen.
If you do it too many times, and wind up closing the main Skype window where now there are no windows, just do vo+M to go to the menu bar, arrow over to your window menu, and in there you should find an option that says Skype. If you vo+space on that, it should reopen the main skype window within the app.
