Here are a couple of things that help ramp you up.
Think of Mavericks as just another Mac app. Inside this app are some new apps.
maps for mac and ibooks for mac are new to mavericks thus pushing us ever
forward in both the direction of working more closely with iOS and to the day
when iOS will replace Mac os.
There are two things over all that will make your adoption a bit simpler.
first, cruise all the menus that are unfamiliar to you. You'll find a host of
keystrokes and some other interesting things. Second, I'd encourage you to
read the help for each app since it's been written with you in mind.
Third, please come to the list with any questions you don't find the answers to
or just need a bit of help with.
