Hello,
Although the message below might be considered ³advertising,² in my
opinion it is absolutely appropriate for our list. I think that the
context might be helpful, so am forwarding the entire message, not simply
the pdf announcement.

Subject: Summer Course in SCED at Fitchburg State College - Medicinal Plants

Hi Steve,

I am not completely sure if it would be appropriate to send this to the
NEACT list; but if it is please forward this to the entire list.

Attached is a flyer describing a course I am teaching this summer (Session
II in July 6 Aug 4) that may be of special interest to school teachers who
are looking for graduate courses in science education. This is a variant of
the course in natural products that I regularly teach and is intended for a
general audience with some background in chemistry.

I had offered this course about 8 years ago as an undergraduate course but
there were not enough registrants. Several teachers had indicated that they
were looking for courses that carry graduate credit, and also later in the
summer. Hence this attempt to offer it again as Summer II course with
graduate credit. The course is co-listed as an undergraduate course - CHEM
4800 - and would be useful as a chemistry elective.

I would appreciate any help you can provide in publicizing this course.
Thanks.
