Subject: [Nhsci-ed] Great News!! - UNH Earth Systems Science for Teachers

We are greatly pleased that the generous grant from the National Science
Foundation (GEO-0631377) will provide financial support for UNH to offer the
Earth Systems Science for Teachers course (ESCI 795/895) again in 2012.
Seating for this course is limited and is expected to fill up. The grant
supports teacher tuition and fees (value $1,250 - $1,450), costs for field
trips, room and board for those staying on campus (lunch commuters), and a
$1200 stipend.

This 3-credit course, designed for middle and high school in-service science
and mathematics teachers, integrates the systems-level treatment of Earth
Science along with inquiry-rich pedagogy. It is designed from an
interdisciplinary point of view, so teachers from all subdisciplines within
science and mathematics are welcome to attend. The course will run from
July 16 - 27, 2012 at UNH-Durham.

Selections for this course will be made from an application process. Course
registrations are handled after the application process and admissions are
announced. Information and application will be posted on the course webpage
http://leitzelcenter.unh.edu/geo-teach/index.html, beginning May 21, 2012.
The application deadline is June 1, 2012. For more information or for
questions, please send an email to steve.hale@xxxxxxxx
