Part-Time Chemistry Lab Instructor, Academic Year 2017-2018
Boston University Academy is seeking a part-time adjunct chemistry instructor
for the 2017-2018 academic year. This is a one-year position. Responsibilities
include teaching honors-level chemistry lab and assisting with the honors-level
chemistry class (including grading homework and exams and holding office
hours). Advising STEM students in their Senior Thesis project may also be
needed.
Education and Experience:
* At least 3-5 years of experience teaching at an independent school or
higher education setting is strongly preferred
* Advanced degree (or currently working toward an advanced degree) strongly
preferred, but not required
Boston University Academy is as small, independent, co-educational day high
school located on the Boston University campus. The mission of Boston
University Academy is to educate talented students who are passionate about
learning and who share the joy of inquiry. BU Academy students are motivated,
bright, and engaged. Classes are small and discussion-based. Most students in
the eleventh grade study three courses at BUA, and take two of their courses at
Boston University. Seniors take most of their coursework at Boston University
