I did some research, the news was calling it an “ACID FIRE”. But that’s the
news.
When my students did the classic Flame tests, there were wire loops, some
metallic solid salts, and a test tube with some HCl to clean the wire loop
involved. Nothing that would send 17 students to the hospital. Later we
used concentrated solutions of these salts that the loops were dipped into.
There was more going in that room rather than the classic flame tests of
yesteryears.
