Pretty obvious - not sure why I didn't think of that. :) With regards to getting your hands on the ground, I think I came up with a fix, even for taller pythons where you can't get your hands on the ground anymore. I modelled a three inch extension for my python (maybe make it 4 inches on the real thing) and added handle bars that incorporate both a temporary steady stand for stopping (if I can't reach the ground) plus by pulling back further, it turns into the center stand. It's a simple over-center spring loaded lock that both pulls the handlebars down and forward for riding, plus keeps the bars at full "up" position when the center stand is deployed. http://bikes.jkcc.com/python%20temp/ The bars are made out of 1" EMT, the center section is 1" steel box tube and the center stand legs are 1/2" steel tubing, all either .o64" or .049" (whatever I have handy). On my python, I can weld it up as illustrated, and slide it over the front of the pythons rear section. I'll add rubber stoppers to stop the stand from rattling when riding, as well as to pad the stopping point when the stand is deployed. When the stand is used for a steading brace while stopped, the handle bars are about 3/4's of the way up. When the center stand is all the way down, it lifts the center of the trike about 1/2" to 3/4". It might even come in handy when going very slow on steep hills, in which case, I might put a small roller blade wheel on each leg to help it roll. ============================================================ This is the Python Mailinglist at freelists.org Listmaster: Juergen Mages jmages@xxxxxx ============================================================
