I intended to also say that I really like the idea of direct drive, in the 
sense 
of pedals directly on an internal hub.  But I don't think it can be done with 
current hubs and attain normal cycling speeds.  Because of the required gearing 
being  omitted.  I gave up on it.

At first glance the Evolution bike looks like a python, but the pivot is high 
and trail is near zero, so probably no self-centering effect.
