Hello Eric,

welcome to the list.

Has anyone tried setting up their Python's drivetrain with a fixed front wheel?
If so, does this work, or would backpedaling forces cause the front wheel to
"collapse" backwards?

Jukka Virret from Finland has build one with a 3-gear hub: http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/jviirret/python.htm

The hub has the same backpedal braking mechanism as some
fixed gear hubs.

Though the riding might be harder to learn, I do not expect problems
when backpedal braking.

The collapsing of the front wheel, which one should expect, when
braking with a negative trail bike, did never occur so far in my
10.000 km python experience.
Maybe it is only a high speed issue.
The leverarm BB-pivot which is operated by the rider´s legs is too long
for the antagonistic collapsing brake force to take effect.

Cheers,
Jürgen.
