Wow, that was a quick modification! Nice use of some old handle bars. And glad
to see the idea was of some help.
Do you notice any difference when riding / hitting bumps?

Thanks Steffen and Patrick for concerns and ideas. I have added two tubes
(handle bars) as Patrick suggested, which also strengthens the shock joint. I
promise not to do any jumping unless in controlled testing (safe). The original
goal is to see how much front suspension can reduce road disturbance to
steering, which perhaps can compensate for smaller wheels / tires...
Steffen's idea is similar to this full suspension python built in
2008,http://www.flickr.com/photos/python_uploads/2827143639, which I wish I saw
before building mine. This design seems stronger / lighter / more compact.
Any thoughts?

Hello Vi,

the idea is nice and brings some ideas for me too, but Patrick is absolute
right when he says that the system doesn't looks very stable. I'm working with
welding every day, and when I saw the point where the frame broke, I didn't
wondered about the crack. The frame is relative slim at that point and your
weld seems are for sure no beauties. I like all your projects, as they include
so many clever ideas, and I don't wanna hear something like "his frame broke in
heavy traffic and ...". So there are to ways. 1: built the frame geometries
that they meet the load conditions better (long lever = high profile) 2. get
better knowledge of welding and clean the parts better before welding (no
chrom, no paint). Sorry for the harangue but some of that what I saw scares
 me.

Here 2 ideas from me to your suspension project. Maybe they are better (maybe
not)

regards,
Steffen

Hey Vi,

Front wheel suspension: wow, nice build.
Except for the 'front part - pivot' attachment the 'suspension fork to frame
tube' seems a little weak too. Why not weld two extra tubes left and right of
the front wheel to make a triangle (as in the attached picture). Just an idea
to make your ride safer...

Happy
 cycling,
