Siwmae pawb (Hiya all, in an obscure minority -- but staunchly-proud -- Euro-language),

I'd love to see a wiki specifically on the Python.

I'm virtually computer-illiterate (that generation) and clearly I know less about practical pythoneering than almost everyone else in the gang, but I can volunteer some time to help. A bit.

I guess Jurgen's site is the nearest thing to what we're dreaming into being here. But I'd love to see further detailed information and experiences collected there.

At the moment I have the entire python conversation since I joined it, collected on my email archive, pictures and all, since there's so much crucial information there, contributed by all the experienced people.

I assume that I'm going to have to review all that as I build my versions. I suppose it might be within my competence to do that review anyway now, and collate it all into a single, condensed, clearly-edited body of material, and then offer that for comment and re-editing, before submitting it as a wiki item. I can at least lay claim to professional experience as a sub-editor and a journo-hack. But actual layout work will need to be done by someone competent.

I too quail at the thought of the extra work, but that much I can do.

Reverting to an earlier thread momentarily: It's right that using all limbs to power a bike is probably ergonomically less efficient than just using legs. But my line of thought is that -- for anyone who can walk at all -- we all get regular exercise for our lower body, to the hips. But the Western lifestyle leaves the upper body seriously short on regular, everyday workout. I've schemed for a long while to get myself something which combines the joy -- the vocation, in fact -- of biking with regular moderate-to-hard u/b workout.

Looking at Byron Drachman's postings on the net, it seems that the his Champiot Irish-mail quad-fiets seems to fill that bill somewhat. He's a somewhat leaner and fitter-looking oldie than me, anyway, and he puts it down to his Irish-mailer. But I imagine that it could just as well be a trike or a bike version of the traditional Irish-mail, and with the standard multi-gear drive train of a modern bike. That's the python variant that I work on piece-meal, as time allows, in my workshop. Though at current rate of progress I shall be dead before I get to ride it. Or perhaps I'll do the first ride on the day I get Ms. Windsor's telegram congratulating me an making it to a hundred years old.....
