I have the MDF board, drew the python on it (probably the most fun part of the whole project!) and drilled the holes into it with an "oberfräser". I hope the precision is good enough: the MDF board is a little bent, and the holes are not perfectly perpendiculum. ...Oh well. I'll close my eyes for this error :-\ I also collected the dropouts from junk bikes, and have a BB and both the rod ends (GA10s).
