Hi Torben and Tobias,

Seen from the security side: the critical part of a brake is the cable,

and that is double. In this solution the socket, the pads and the brake

arms are single. But these are not really know to fail.

The mounts are usually known to be coated with something - to prevent rust,
and enhance visual appeal. I think it's called "paint" ;-) Pads have a bad
tendency to be worn out halfway down vissenbjergbakken (en: mt. Vissenbjerg)
in the rain when a kindergarden crosses the street in front of you. And
maybe there's a metorit out there with your name on it ;-)

And again, the

brake on the rear wheel is very dangerous, as locks out happen regulary

in my case - with one fall inside of a month.

Not very appealing solution, I admit. And I know you have limited space -
maybe a front rollerbrake as a backup could be the elegant solution?

AFAIK danish law is even more precise. It states that you have to have

independent brakes _and_ they should brake different wheels. Thus a rear

and a front brake. I will reconsider and put a cheapo extra brake lever

hidden under the seat to the rear just for legality sake.

Well, it's your bike, your life, and your call. I'd just mention it before
someone not so technical minded as you copied the solution w/o thinking
twice.

cheers,
Torben
