Ok. Here is what happened. I really quickly reinstalled debian on the mini
pc although I said I wasn't going too.
Then I tried first the debian package of fenrir. No go. Then tried both the
git and stable versions of fenrir. Still no go.
I did stop espeakup before trying to start fenrir. I also had the hdmi cable
connected as well as the sound cord.
Still no go. So I gave up.
Then I compared emacspeak on both systems to see if there was a slight lag.
With emacspeak the lag seems about the same on both systems.
After that I looked carefully at the mini pc hardware wise. And oddly the PI
is a better system all around. That having been said I kept debian on the
mini pc. But I put the mini pc away. And decided to just stick with the PI
even with its slight disadvantages.
Anyway. Then I turned on pop email for two of my gmail accounts. And
downloaded all messages into edbrowse.
First account went smoothly. I was able to save the email properly.
Then I figured something out. The emails already downloaded and were saved so
I could go in and read them without reading in the edbrowse mail reader
itself.
Well. This account. I went to save one message. Then the crazy thing decided
to delete all the messages. And didn't save any of them rofl. Go figure.
Not a big deal. I went up and caught up on the most recent messages on the
list.
Mike. I am glad my challenges encourage you. Will cover how I learned linux
and why in another post.
Devin I know what you mean about linux drawing one. Also I will be learning
emacs and emacspeak as well. Not giving up on it. I just like edbrowse. And
its really not out of date.
To everyone. I changed my mind about stormux and that is mainly due to the
flexibility of the raspberry pi. I still have stormux or f123 lite on that
micro sd card. I will play with it here and there. But I believe raspbian I
will use the most.
As far as purchasing the mini pc. Its a good backup pc. or good for sshing
into freebsd if I put it on the raspberry pi again.
I have posted a lot today and my apologies if I swamped any of your email
boxes.
I need to take care of my cat before he gets upset and then I will give a
quick basic history of my experiences with linux. At least I hope to make it
brief and to the point.
