just to clearify, didnt you see the logfile or didnt you see any errors
in the logs?
did you use pulseaudio? if so, then pulse needs to be configured.

if you start fenrir with "-d" flag it creates an debug file in /tmp/fenrir*
do you get an error if you start it from terminal not as an deamon?
sudo fenrir -d # as non daemon
sudo fenrir-daemon -d # as background daemon

Hi BT,
I was wrong, I did get an error about the daemonize package but that
was on a previous installation. I have done all the steps I have
documented and the only red flag is the failure of python espeak to be found.
The check-dependencies script still says that the Fenrir core is
available but I am unable to get speech out of Fenrir and as of this
writing, the log does not show any errors.
I will try different drivers in the settings.conf files to see if that
makes any difference.
