I can't say that I hate one screen reader over another. I have voices that I
do not like. But I tend to see screen readers as tools to help me get what I
need or want. Now if I could write my own screen reader that would be cool!
But I think adding scripts to the ones that are already out there makes things
easier for everyone. I just use a cheat sheet for any new screen reader I am
learning until it becomes second nature to use it.

Hey Jessica,
Sounds terrible to lose speech. I like ESpeak myself. I think I will try 30
minutes on the pi tonight lol! Your adventure is making me think perhaps
mine is not so bad.
Where did you learn all this Linux stuff in the past few years? I would like
to hear your story. But not sure if everyone else would be interested.
Send me an email at Vijafanye@xxxxxxxxxxx.
Also does anyone know if Stormux starts up automatically with speech on the
RP4? I will try it again tonight perhaps I am just making silly errors.
Sincerely,
Mike Villafane

Ok. All I did was remove pulseaudio. Then I thought maybe I will remove
speech-dispatcher.
Of course that wanted to remove orca.
In any case. Fenrir wouldn't speak at all before I did all that.
After I did it I could not get into the shell.
So yes because of the actions I took I have to reinstall debian on there. I
am not doing that today.
I will bring up fenrir on here one more time to see if the responsiveness is
sluggish.
But honestly. As much as I love debian. I think I am going to stick with
raspbian for now. I haven't a clue how to install debian arm on here.
Although I did read an article.
Besides isn't raspbian built for the pi. I will fix the mini pc. But not
today.
That having been said. I don't see why I can't just use the raspbian. After
all it does work. Er raspbian on the raspberry pi 3 b plus LOL.
I have to stop testing things sigh. I need to get my daily tasks done.
