cower -d gnucobol-svn
cd gnucobol-svn
<edit PKGBUILD to add 'armv6h' to 'arch=' line>
makepkg -s -i PKGBUILD

Hello.cob:

        IDENTIFICATION DIVISION.
        PROGRAM-ID. hello.
        PROCEDURE DIVISION.
        DISPLAY "Hello World!".
        STOP RUN.

Compile:

cobc -x hello.cob
chmod +x hello
./hello

Hello World!

And all without a dragon of a senior programmer with elbow patches 
breathing down my neck :)

Now to find a tape drive on Ebay...
