Hello Gert,

You will get the error about speech-dispatcher because I have put it in
pacman.conf as a package to ignore when doing an upgrade.  I have made
changes to it to make it work on the Pi which would be over-written by
an upgrade.

I think the version on there is the latest anyway.

I am currently working on getting the image updated to use OpenMAX to
render audio directly on the GPU to get rid of the kernel crashes and
the need for speech-dispatcher in the console.  It will be a while yet.

This change will totally bypass the Broadcom sound driver and get rid of
any stuttering as well.
