Hi Mike

Well in the linux course we either run debian version 10.04 or 12.04, under
VM player and SSH into the virtual machine using tera-term. Some people
have their own VPS. The instructor also has his own VPS which we sometimes
connect to and then we join a multi user screen and he shows us stuff.

In terms of communication we all connect to ventrillo which is like skype,
but allows more people to connect simultaneously. So we can all talk to one
another or just listen to the instructor. It's all very accessible as you
might expect.

I guess the only downside for us in the UK is that lectures start at 1am,
which is 9am Perth time. Although he might be flexible and run this course
at a different time?

It's just a proposal at the moment, but there is quite a lot of interest
from CAVI students so the course details may change. I only found out
earlier today, but thought I'd let people know on here.

Darren.
