There are many different cases available for the Raspberry Pi, so it's
difficult to give a general tutorial for this kind of thing, but
something that tripped me up with at least one of the cases I have is
this:
Depending on the case, there may be a hole in the base plate for the
microSD slot. This hole might be shaped such that you have to stick
the SD slot into the hole in order to get the board to rest flat
against the floor of the case. Failing to slip the SD slot into the
hole on such a case can cause that end of the board to be higher than
it should be, which can result in the SD card being inaccessible when
the case is fully assembled or even prevent the case from being
closed.
