Well, since Avid is still involved with Sibelius development as opposed to the
rumor that some Russian company had taken it over,
there may be hope. Avid has certainly done a lot of good things with Pro
tools. The foundation that has already been laid to accessibility to sib 7 is
a good start really. If they could just make a few key tweaks like giving us
direct feedback from expression text, lyrics, and system items, we would really
have something. Threr must be some UI automation going on since it works with
NVDA better than Jaws. It really shouldn’t be that hard to port that over to
the Mac. We probably don’t have as manmhy of us using sibelius as compared to
Pro Tools, but maybe if we really can present a united front and outline the
current short comings, something might be done. It seems that I’m the only one
who has actually used sib 7 and I would need to get some of you playing around
with it as well.
