Dear Colleagues,
Played my first round of golf on Tuesday. It was the first time I've held a
club in my hand since January (and it showed..).
We played at Coronado Muni, and I marveled at the great thought and planning
that the staff had put into the administration and organization of getting
people out on the course. From the initial check-in (we had our
temperatures taken in the parking log). To the very clear signage. To the
registration & check-in process. Cart rental. The whole thing. And once
we were out on the course, it couldn't have been a more carefree and
enjoyable day. (The only thing that was missing was the socializing with a
cold one after the round - which IS a great big part of the fun.) But I was
out there with Tug and WOXOF, and another Naval Academy classmate - and it
couldn't have been better.
This caused me to think about how tough it must be to open the other many
recreational facilities and sports complexes during this COVID-19 period.
Take tennis, for example... (please see link below).
