There is no way to top KDs wit. I am chucking as I write this, especially when
I got to the Japanese transition and Adriamycin Cyclophosphamide Etoposide (my
fav too KD).
Not that anyone was losing sleep over SOGAGG email list being rudderless for 2
days, but am back as an admin and put in a 2nd admin account just in case it
happens again so that I have a backup admin account
Looking forward to seeing everyone on 26th!
Have a great weekend familia and stay healthy.

Tournament June 26th
Ace,
Thank you for pulling together another terrific SOGAGG event for all of us to
get together. You are the BEST!!!! Actually, you are the “ACE”!!!! And
that’s synonymous with being the BEST!!!!
So a bit of history on the word “ACE”. According to Fred’s local dictionary….
(Note: Merriam’s International Dictionary was contacted, but they refused to
comment…..)
· If you describe someone such as a sports player as an “Ace”, you mean
that they are very good at what they do. ...
· In tennis, an “Ace” is a serve which is so fast that the other player
cannot reach the ball. (Note: Never a problem in golf, except those times
when one “tops” the ball, and that comes from swinging so wild that you can’t
fully reach the ball….)
· French Translation for the noun “ACE” is “WIZ”. This is a derivative
from the German word “WIZENHEIMER” (which means one who has a very smart
“heimer”.)
· In Japanese, the word “Ace” means 最優秀 (which is so very
self-explanatory, that additional details are not needed here…)
· There are many noteworthy acronyms for the word “ACE”. Among them
(these are all actual acronyms….):
o Acute Care for the Elderly
o Awards for Cable Excellence
o Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals
o American Council on Exercise
o Abstinence Commitment Effect
o Access to Cosmetology Education
o Arms Countermeasures Evaluator
o Armored Combat Earthmover
o Athletic Certified Equipment
o Activities Children Enjoy
o Adriamycin Cyclophosphamide Etoposide (my personal favorite)
Bottom line: So very much appreciate you picking up the ball and running with
it. (I have seen you do the same thing on the golf course, but it was usually
someone else’s golf ball – and that story is for a different time and place….).
Warmest and “Aceist” of wishes,
KD

Hi Dwayne,
Thank you for your email, it came at just the right moment as I needed a
chuckle (your team names are the best!)
All teams are paid including SOGAGG-3 and I will update players on my list from
yours.
I will personally take care of Barry,; as I told Gar, I am very resourceful and
will make it my duty to have everything in order for all of you to enjoy your
day without incident.
I am working on the day of play currently and will send you, Gar and Charlie
and email with all of the information at the beginning of next week that you
can share with the others.
We have not been in the office since March and I have tried to make sure I am
accessible so I apologize that I did not receive your phone message.
I use my cell for work, you are welcome to call anytime (always working!)
619-616-5051 to chat, I would be happy to talk anything through that I need to
know.
Thank you for reaching out, being patient, and supporting our mission! This
will really be a "day of golf" in remembrance of Sgt. Lucas T. Pyeatt and in
support of our VOICE Program and we are so grateful to all of you for joining
us.
I look forward to meeting you all on the 26th.
V/r,
Christina

Good afternoon Ms. Curtin,
I’m probably about the third person to contact you from the Society of Golfers
Against Good Golf (SOGAGG) relative to this upcoming tournament.
As you may be aware, our group particularly enjoys participating in charitable
events to support such important causes as yours. I believe both Gar Wright
(RADM., USN Ret.) has spoken to you just recently as has Charlie Hopkins
(Capt., USN Ret.) concerning the three foursomes we are entering for the
tourney.
What I wanted to do was confirm to you the overall details of our participation
since we’ve gone about this more or less piecemeal due to the starts and stops
caused by COVID-19 an also ask for your help on a relative matter.
The three foursomes are
“SOGAGG-1” – Ken Garber, Bob Clark, Brian Bowden, Robert Pennoyer
“SOGAGG-2” - Doug Twining, Mike Woiwode, Rick Cassoni, Dwayne Junker (me)
“SOGAGG-3: - Gar Wright, Jack Sears, David Rodriguez, Tug McGraw and Barry
King
I believe Gar Wright has already chatted with you concerning
Barry’s medical condition and his inability to actually play and requested a
special accommodation for Barry in the form of a third cart for this SOGAGG-3
foursome (him making a total of five).
Confirming we will all be using electric carts, no pull carts.
As you are probably aware, Charlie Hopkins has already paid for all four
players in SOGAGG-1 and I have already paid for all players in SOGAGG-2.
However, from the time we did that, there have been changes in the actual
make-up of those two foursomes and the current players are those listed in this
email.
Question: There should be some members listed in SOGAGG-3 who you show as not
yet having paid? If so, they just signed up within the past couple of days.
We can get those payments to you ASAP once you let us know where we stand there.
Finally, my apologies for the long email. I had left a message at the standard
number for the MCRD Museum asking if you could be contacted to call me but I
fully understand that with the COVID-19 challenges, those messages may not be
listened to as often as they normally would.
I appreciate your assistance on all of this – SOGAGG is looking forward to
supporting this event.
Best regards,
