Well said, sHank. Truly a great day, gang. We came to the course expecting to
cart around the canyons, hills, twists and turns of Balboa and found out there
will be no carts due to the storm. Come to think of it, there weren't that
many cart paths either (okay they were under debris so there's that). In true
SOGAGG fashion we did the push cart thing and were able to renew our annual
macho cards in the process. A good thing.
I'm thinking the "B team" might need to demand a recount on the scores that
cost us all that money. The word is the "A team's" Divot was looking to gain
some dollars for those laundry and dry expenses he didn't expect until decided
to try out the "Balboa slide" they were featuring yesterday (per sHank's
pictures).
I'd like to host January's outing at Warner Springs on a nice Saturday morning.
Would be good to get into the hinterland and play amongst the quietude of the
many trees and rolling grassland and amongst the wild turkeys. It's also
warmer inland in the winter... More to follow.
Cheers for the weekend to all,
/Ace

Docho , thanks for the great outing! Usually the course looks like it was hit
by a storm after a visit by SOGAGG, not before. Ace thanks for the breakfast!
We needed those calories as carts were not allowed and all had to walk the
through the debris fields of our storm damaged city muni. Sorry to hear that a
red tail wanted your golf ball more than you did, but am glad you came away
unscathed. More than can be said about Divot, who took one for the A team.
Check out the back of his shirt AFTER we cleaned him up. His gritty
performance inspired his brother Ken to go net 2, net 2 over the last two
holes, with the two Kens leading the A team to an impressive team best ball
score of 61 in the tough conditions.
In the side game, Divot took 2½ of the possible 3 points, Bob/KenD had 1½ each
and yours truly had ½ point. The rules committee (Docho) awarded the A team
the victory, with very little bribery needed, so I have your winnings and will
square up the next time we get together, hopefully in Warner Springs in January.

Looks like rain will end well before first tee time. Foursomes per the table
below. Green shirts.
Team A against Team B. The rules (as opposed to Rules) will be explained no
sooner than Friday morning and no later than after the final putt is made on
the 18th hole by Group B. The maximum you can lose will be five dollars for
the competition plus any fines assessed whilst on the course. Violation of
rules are subject to review by the rules committee (consisting of Docho). The
committee decision is final.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday. I will be at Tobey’s at 0830 for
breakfast. Hope you can join me.
Have a great day!!
