OMG I could not even use my correct SOGAGG signature on my first group email!
Let me try this again...
“Sincerely,
HOOKS!”

Dear SOGAGGers,
OMG I’m so sorry for having participated so little!!!
My only defense is timing...
To finally be able to join this austere group only to have COVID-19 virus
cast upon all of us within days of becoming a member Is monumental bad luck.
Who would have thought in January that we would be isolated at home and away
from golf for months???
Then to finally have a glimpse of wiggle room from the virus giving me the
opportunity to play as a SOGAGG only to have timing of that event conflict
with Debbie and my annual motor-coach trip back to Ohio in order to visit my
daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren is again (pardon the pun) another
stroke of bad luck...
I promise to make up for all! I have to soon otherwise my ever growing list
of SOGAGG debts will be unsurmountable!!! 😂😂😂😂
Yesterday was a fun birthday.
I was abruptly awakened by my 2 1/2 year old Grandaughter and by my 4 year
old Grandson screaming “Happy Birthday Granddad” at point blank range.
I got my Fitbit steps in during the morning (it’s 90+ degrees with 90%+
humidity here in the mid-west) so getting the steps in was an major
accomplishment in its own right...
I played golf at Bowling Green, Ohio’s lone Country Club (Stone Ridge) where
I shot a 91 but played with Andrew. Andrew is a recent BGSU graduate in
accounting who was on the golf team, with aspirations for the PGA Tour and
Who was all set to compete in the US Open until COVID-19 canceled the
qualifiers for that event.
Yesterday’s golf allowed me to live vicariously through Andrew’s round of 74
(from the golds behind both the blues and blacks) which included an eagle,
three birdies and several long drives including one that went 383 yards. A
fun day on the course!
Lastly in the evening I capped the day off with an amazing steak dinner at
the Chop House Restaurant in Toledo, Ohio on the banks of the Maumee River.
All-in-all a pretty great way to spend my first day as an official member of
Medicare. 😂😂😂
I will be back in San Diego in a few weeks and when I return I can’t wait to
be a full fledged participant in everything SOGAGG!
Sincerely
Carl

SOGAGG Colleagues,
We have a “first” today. We are toasting the birthday of a member who has
never played as a SOGAGGer, never paid the Finder’s Fee to his sponsor
WOXOF, never performed the SOGAGG “Happy Dance” and never proved he can
recite the entire SOGAGG roster in alphabetical order in 30 seconds or
less. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of the Society has never seen
him since he was inducted.
That is so SOGAGG… Hooks, you’ve started off on the right foot and we’re
so pleased to have you aboard (you are aboard somewhere, right?).
Congratulations on your big day and we’ll hoist a tall one in your honor
tonight and above all, don’t despair that we’ll be doing so knowing you
don’t have your shirts – we have plans for that soon…J
Happy Birthday Hooks,
/Ace
