Friday Players,

  The attached file represents the scorecards I will bring for tomorrow, one
per cart.  I believe the course handicaps and strokes per hole calculated
correctly.  Please let me know if you see an error.

  Ace has selected "1-2-3 Waltz" for Friday's game.   I'll repeat the rules
for this game below for your convenience.  Ace has also elected to play
skins.  Entry cost is $20 per player; $5 for skins and $15 for prize money.
I have the percentages for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as ~55% ($100), ~33%
($60), and ~$11% ($20), respectively.  I assume Ace will collect and award
these funds.

  As I recall, other SOGAGG norms include:  Anyone not wearing the proper
SOGAGG shirt buys a round; Low net arranges the next outing; some golfers
feel obliged to offer a round for a drive not passing the forward tees.  As
we can't possibly drink all this beer, it's up to the player how to handle
these "norms."

For those of you who are interested and have some tolerance for detail, info
on the game follows.

"1-2-3 Waltz" is the name of a golf tournament format for 4-person teams in
which a different number of team members' scores are counted on each hole:

*       On the first hole, the one best score among the four teammates is
the team score;
*       On the second hole, the two best scores are combined for the team
score;
*       On the third hole, the three best scores are combined for the team
score.

One-two-three. On the fourth hole, that rotation starts over and continues
through the round.

Playing  "1-2-3 Waltz"

Each golfer on a team plays his own ball throughout the round - just regular
stroke play for each golfer. The difference in "1-2-3 Waltz" is the number
of scores counted on each hole.

In typical best ball or better ball, it's only the one low score per hole
among the teammates that is counted. But in "1-2-3 Waltz", it's the one low
ball, then the two, then the three that are counted. The effect is to keep
all the golfers in the quartet involved in the action and contributing to
the team score.
