Sarah, Good luck tomorrow. Please take your time with your recovery, that is to
say, be a patient patient. Although my daughter constantly tells me that slow
and steady never wins any race, slow and steady is indeed the prescription for
successful back surgery recovery .. this is not a race. Also, it will give that
amazing house boy you have plenty of time to do his thing ! WOXOF

Most of you know I am having back surgery. Well, the big day is this
Wednesday, June 24 at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla.. I will be “first on
the docket” at 7:30 AM, and the surgery is expected to last about four hours.
Then after a few hours in recovery, they will transport me to a regular room.
I should be in the hospital 1-3 nights, and, unfortunately, due to the COVID
situation, I cannot have any visitors, even Charlie. Not that it probably
matters, because I will be on “heavy duty drugs” for at least a few days.
Charlie will use this email list to let you know how I am doing. We fully
expect this operation to be a complete success. Afterwards, I should be active
and without major back pain well into my 80’s. Dr. Eastlack is the same
surgeon that operated on Charlie’s back some years ago, and he has been pain
free ever since.
I look forward to a rapid recovery and good times with you all in the near
future!
Hugs-
Sarah
