Subject: FW: Update: Admiral Baker Golf, Picnic, and Street Swings: Sat,
21OCT2017
Picnic Attendees:
Please use this link to visit the picnic spreadsheet
(https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LFnWsjXWYMN8C9sZL842Pn2TaAC2lvMHVww
ROkEl0q0/edit#gid=0 ). You can list your side dish and see others. Bring
your own entrée and drinks.
We will be in pavilion two near the back parking lot.
We will have the grill hot and coolers with ice set up about 1230. Street
Swings will be in the parking lot from about 1 to 4. The practice hole is
ours all day. We will have a shag bag out there or at the pavilion at least
by noon; you are on your own if you want to get in some good practice before
your tee time. Mini golf is available via the nearby recreational center
office. We will check out about 1700. Sunset is at 1808. Civil twilight is
0648 to 1840.
Golfers:
* Please review the attached scorecards for pairings at our Saturday
21 October golf outing. I will bring copies to the course Saturday morning.
* Due to an overwhelming demand, the game will be Fourball. This is
match play between two teams in each foursome based on net scores. Each
foursome bet what you want (usually $1 to each winning player for each of
front 9, back 9, and overall 18).
* We will also play Skins based on net scores. I will collect $5
before tee off from each player willing to participate. If everyone plays
and 18 skins are won, each hole will be worth a bit less than $4.50. Payout
will be at the picnic.
* We will include standard practices from the Society of Golfers
Against Good Golf (SOGAGG), as a number of members are attending and
playing. Specifically: SOGAGG member not wearing SOGAGG attire (white for
this event)Organize and run the next SOGAGG event; Overall Low NetA round
after the round; Failure to pass the forward tee on a driveA round after
the round.
Definitions:
Four Ball. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
A four-ball golf match, used in <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Match_play>
match play competitions, consists of two teams of two
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golf> golfers competing directly against each
other. Each golfer plays their own ball throughout the round, such that four
balls are in play. A team's number of strokes for a given hole is that of
the lower scoring team member. It is also known as best ball or more
properly better ball.
In <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke_play> stroke play, the scores are
added normally, and the team with the lower score at the end of the match
wins.
In match play, each hole is won by the team whose member has the lowest
score on that hole, and that team is awarded a point for the hole. If the
teams tie for a hole, the point for the hole is divided between the teams.
At the end of the match, the team with the most points wins.
Four-ball golf is commonly played in team golf competitions such as the
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryder_Cup> Ryder Cup,

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solheim_Cup> Solheim Cup,

Four-Ball.
Skins.
In a <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skins_Game> skins game, golfers compete
on each hole, as a separate contest. Played for prize money on the
professional level or as a means of a wager for amateurs, a skin, or the
prize money assigned to each hole, carries over to subsequent holes if the
hole is tied. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variations_of_golf#cite_note-1>
