good luck with dealing wth Meade.  a most unhelpful company about issues like 
this.  Jerry Armstrong, whom , you may know is the electronic expert on Meade's 
junk electronics  Also on the Meade there is a Meade user's group that may

how much they will charge for one.  I am hoping I might be able to get them to 
donate one since it is being used by a bunch of students at a high school.  I

and do not know how to fix such a problem.
  if it is the board, it might be easier to swap out the board.

    Hi.  My name is Sam Hunt.  I haven't joined TAS yet, but have been 
    wanting to do this for a couple of years now.
    I retired recently and plan to join very soon.

    I am 66 years old and have been using and making telescopes for about 50 
    years.
    If the person with the non-working telescope can bring it to me in 
    Auburn, I will look at it and maybe even fix it.
    If it's a Cass or SCT and is not broken, I can align it well enough to 
    use again.
    I've owned and restored several SCTs from 4" to 10".
