Managed to bird a bit at the house Sunday (9/15) on Black Oak Ridge in west Knox Co. About 2 hrs before church starting at 6:45am yielded 38 species including 8 warbler species. Added a Turkey Vulture when we came home after lunch. Then at halftime of the Manning Bowl, I stepped out to the deck briefly to see if I could get a Chimney Swift for #40. I did plus 2 more warblers and a Scarlet Tanager for 43 species with 10 warblers. Not a bad day for a 1/2-acre lot, less than a mile from Cedar Bluff.
