I’ve seen videos of birds trapped in the Tribute in Light and only recently
heard that the city/feds have been willing to turn the lights off for 20
minutes during heavy migration nights. I’ve attached a link to the story below.
I wonder how things went Tuesday night. It should have been a good migration
night.
The hurricane and other weather systems over Central America will make it hard
for birds to complete their journeys over the next several days if not the next
couple of weeks. It is theorized that birds can hear infrasound, if so, then
Florence should be making a mighty roar. It will be interesting to see if birds
stall north of the hurricane or possibly fly around it. I’m sure there will be
birders out there with the intension of documenting what happens and reporting
their findings on ebird. It will be interesting if we find increased activity
in Tennessee.
