Grenada Lake CBC
Grenada Co. MS

I had to get out of the state and away from the Big Year thoughts, so I went
down to help out Gene Knight and crew on their count. It was a slow day at
work anyhow ;o)

I found a first winter, female Prairie Warbler (they get it on the count some
years) and two Surf Scoters but the real stunner for the day was a Blue Jay
than jumped up in front of Shannon, Gene and the OL'COOT.

It was white all over with a pearlish blue over cast in areas. It just took
our breathes away. I tried for a photo but the bird was shy. It stayed close
by but would not hold still for a shot and we had a Barn Owl to locate so we
had to leave this beautiful bird. It was celestial to say the least and we
last saw it at the gates of a different heaven (at least for some birders),
the entrance to the Grenada Waste Water Treatment Plant. What a Christmas
treat............

Good Birding!!!
