While fishing today, 4 Sept 2004, on Boone Lake, Sullivan County Tennesee near the Tri-Cities Airport, Bert Hale, David Millsap, and I observed an adult bald eagle. The eagle was working both sides of the lake, picking up the dead gizzare shad we were discarding for bait, and taking them to a perch to eat. We observed the eagle for about an hour. Also saw black crowned night herons, an osprey and several wood ducks near Bluff City, TN. Ken Hale, former wildlife manager, converted to a stumble birder.
