[TN-Bird] Am. Bittern in Wm'son Co.

April 1, 2011 Brentwood TN, Williamson County
 
American Bittern 1 - at a "borrow pit" pond off Concord Road (near the  
Nolensville Rd. end). 
First one I've seen in years. It was in the grass away from the water, not  
in the pond. Seen twice but not heard. Also there one Great Blue Heron nest 
with  two birds standing guard, and a couple of N. Rough-winged Swallows 
over the  pond.
