I want to thank everyonel that attended "An Evening for the Birds" last Friday evening. The Chattanooga Chapter of TOS worked long and hard to pull the event together. With a lot of help from Troy Ettel, TWRA, our efforts were rewarded when we were greeted by so many friendly faces from around the state and beyond. Thanks to all 300 people in attendance, our sponsors and the silent auction items, we raised $7,500 to benefit the Cherokee Removal Monument and projects at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge. I'm still thinking about Choogie Kingfisher's stories and Kenn Kaufman's delightful "Secret Lives of Birds and Bird Watchers". Both of these men deserve our gratitude for donating their time to such worthy causes. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions concerning the event. There just might be a next time.
