Mt. Olive Rd. Anderson County 7/21/2013 The light was getting pretty bad around 8:00pm, between the sun getting low, the trees overhead, and the overcast skies, but I got a brief look at a Catharus from below that had just the faintest hint of pale chest spotting. It clucked at me a few times and then disappeared. The way I see it, it couldn't have been anything other than a Veery, which I think is a little unusual west of the Smokies at this time of year. Specific location was on Mt. Olive Rd., about a half-mile north of the corner with Byrams Fork. Daniel Estabrooks
