The Ash-throated Flycatcher was present this afternoon in the trees near the
picnic shelter at Maple View Park (Nickajack Cave WMA). It mostly stayed low
in the branches between the right side of the shelter and the entrance to the
park. After a while, it flew to the taller tree on the left side of the
shelter.

On to the next spot, where two White-faced Ibises were feeding along the edge
of the pond at 7100 Discovery Dr. This bird and the flycatcher were both
redemption birds for those I missed earlier this year. The ibis was bird #300
for me in the state of TN.

The 300 mark was something I'd wanted to achieve for quite some time. It took
four-and-a-half years, and a lot of hours spent looking and chasing things when
I could. Of course, there was a lot of help from you TN-birders, and many of
the guys I've been out in the field with, especially Terry Witt. He really
helped me a ton. Many thanks to all!
