I can't believe I have a reasonably freshly fledged baby robin in my front yard. It flew from my holly over to my dogwood about 10:50 AM when I went out front to await friends who were coming to drive me to lunch today. I think it is just out of the nest, and I have not been aware of a robin's nest anywhere on the property. If it is in the density of the holly bush, I cannot see it either from the ground outside or from my bedroom window against which it stands. I did not see "Baby" when I returned around 2:00 PM. It was probably hiding some place in the shade as it is pretty warm outside. At the same time this morning, I also THOUGHT I heard baby mockers from the cedar tree across the street, but, if so, I have not seen the parents carrying food away from my peanut butter cache or the jelly "bowl" orange half. The older mocks (two couples) have been feeding themselves often every day.
