River Plantation, Bellevue Davidson Co., TN 2014 March 5 6:30-9 am With the overnight and morning snowfall, TSU is closed so I got a day to watch the feeders. The 2+" snowfall brought the return of the FOX SPARROW, and the accumulated leaf litter brought on by the flooding Harpeth River produced 2 male RUSTY BLACKBIRDs, which often are seen here if the river floods in February and March. A large flock of grackles and other blackbirds at our feeders was flushed by a COOPER'S HAWK that sat in our tree for perhaps 30 seconds before taking off. Hoping for a Tree Sparrow, but no luck yet.
