Went to Bells Bend Park this Thursday morning to check
on the NELSON'S SPARROW. Earlier in the week when I
visited, I missed it, but others found it on succeeding
days. Today as I sat on the stone bench above the pond, it
showed itself just a few minutes after I arrived. It
was seen in the weeds beyond the back of the pond and
stayed visible for several minutes. I left to walk
some of the paths, and when I returned to the
pond some 40 minutes later, I had a brief but much
closer sighting of it.
