I was working on my 2017 IRS tax return for much of the week and didn’t have
time for birding many areas beyond my home in Birchwood (Hamilton County). I
did note an Eastern Kingbird yesterday, April 13, only the second one that I
can ever remember at home. Today I observed a Gray Catbird on a suet feeder at
home. This is the first of its species that I’ve seen on a suet feeder. An
Indigo Bunting was also noted today feeding in my yard on mixed seed scattered
on the ground. The first male Ruby-throated Hummingbird showed up at home on
April 4; today I saw the first female.
