The Seattle public radio station KPLU has started a feature called BIRDNOTE
that is modeled on STARDATE.
Hopefully other public radio stations around the country will decide to
broadcast these two-minute essays on birds. You can read about BIRDNOTE and
listen to the entire archive on the web at:

"What would the world be, once bereft of wet and wildness?
Let them be left.
O let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet."-Gerard Manley Hopkins
