Birders: ( Birdwatching at Rankin & Dutch Bottoms )


This morning on Sept. 7, 2005 Shane and Dennis Adams went  birdwatching at 
Rankin & Dutch Bottoms here are the good birds we saw today they are first at 
Rankin: Spotted Sandpiper above the coal tipple, Large Flocks of Eastern 
Kingbirds, Small Flocks of Wild Turkeys ( hens ) on both sides of the road 
before entering Rankin, Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, Osprey, 
Large Flocks of Black & Turkey Vultures, Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, Double 
Crested Cormorants Second at Dutch Bottoms 3 Semipalmated Sandpipers on the 
banks eating across from the church on 25E in Cocke County, Double Crested 
Cormorants flying Great Blue Herons also at the Cocke County TWRA Public Boat 
Dock Area including Osprey and some Great Egrets on an island on right side of 
the bridge in White Pine coming from Cocke County.
