[TN-Bird] Birding Kingsport June Meeting Info

Birding Kingsport is a new chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society in the Kingsport. The monthly meeting is the 4th Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM. Note the different location, The Press Room at Food City, 300 Clinchfield Street in Kingsport.

This will be a special meeting with the program, "Trekking With a Birder" presented by Dr. Fred J. Alsop, III. Dr. Alsop is currently Professor of Biology at ETSU and a widely known ornithologist, author, and educator. His travels have taken him to all 50 states and 21 countries. He is the author of several books, including/Birds of the Smokies,/ /Smithsonian Handbook: Birds of North America, Eastern Region, /and/Smithsonian Handbook: Birds of North America, Western Region./ He was also recognized for his contributions to conservation by the Tennessee Wildlife Federation with the Z. Cartter Patten Conservation Award.

The Press Room is a meeting room at the back of the new Food City located at the site of the former Kingsport Press. You can park in front of the Food City in the parking area between it and the Farmers Market and the site of the Kingsport Carousel and enter through the doors under the Kingsport Press water tank. Go to the left, turn right and there is an entrance to the Press Room with "300" above the door.

You can also park behind the Food City building and there is a entrance directly to the Press Room from the parking lot.
