Ft. Pickens is one of our favorite spots for birding - we vacation in Pensacola
annually and love the area for birding - bay side at Ft Pickens is the best -
there are a couple of small lakes there that I just sit near and watch Osprey
catch fish - a bonus is you get to watch the Blue Angels practice too - it’s
awesome.
Safe travels and happy birding!

Bill Pranty’s A Birder’s Guide to Florida is an excellent resource for
locating and describing birding spots all over Florida. I believe the most
recent edition is 2018.
The book is available on line at several vendors.

Good morning!
I have a trip planned to Perdido Key, Florida in the upper northwest corner
on the Gulf Coast for the third week in September. Migration should be in
full swing. I have never been there so any suggestions of birding hot spots
would be appreciated. I have found the following places as possibilities and
also checking eBird but thought someone may have personal experience in the
area.
Perdido Key State Park
Big Lagoon State Park****
Tarkiln Bayou State Park
Pensacola
Thanks so much!
