Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton county
May 18, 2008

Least Tern: One adult male flying over the south pond for at least 1-1/2 hours.
 As I waded near the largest island, near the west side, it seemed to be trying
to scare me away, flying toward me and sounding. It could have been that I was
in the spot where it wished to feed and did feed after I left, but it acted as
if I was near it's nest.

Least Bittern: No sign nor sound, no nest found in 2 hours diligent wading;
very different from the past three years.

Much less water around the bases of the cattails than in previous years.
