This morning (3/25/12) at the TVA Pond, instead of 42-44 Whistling Ducks here
were 52 standing along the back of the pond. Forty-six ducks were clustered in
one group while 6 were further to the left. What appeared to be the original
group were active. They were flapping their wings and lifting off the ground
looking like small cranes. There are still 34 Scaup on the pond including at
least one female Greater. There were a few shorebirds scattered about the many
ponds at the sewage treatment area:
12 Killdeer
4 Black-necked Stilts
1 Spotted Sandpiper
 2 Greater Yellowlegs
16 Lesser Yellowlegs
3 Least Sandpipers
2 Pectoral Sandpipers

Other birds of interest were:
152 American Coots
8 Pied-billed Grebes
28 Blue-winged Teal

and over 75 Brown-headed Cowbirds
