We went to visit the field where Jay Desgrosellier and Chris Sloan reported
Henslow's Sparrow in Land-Between-the-Lakes (a vaction from the fields in Fort
Campbell during the rain). The Henslow's Sparrows were still there (we
counted 6 singing males, and one bird was carrying food), but the surprise came
when
a male BOBOLINK flushed up after listening a little while. This was
surprizing because ! saw my last Bobolink at Fort Campbell on the 28th of May,
and I
have been watching for them everyday since then.
We also had Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Red-winged Blackbird, Prairie
Warbler, and Yellow-breasted Chat.

The field was just after mile marker 4 coming in from the south entrance of
the park on the right side. It looks like they might be getting ready to mow
the field soon.
