TN birders,
Today at about 4:40 PM, had a single snow goose and single greater
white-fronted goose, the latter being my first county record in 35 years.
Had got a tip from Rick Houck this morning about the birds, but am rehabing
from a total knee replacement and cannot drive yet, so had to wait on my wife
to serve as cabbie.When Rick had seen them earlier, he had 2 gwfg, one snow,
and one blue goose. Some more birds were back in the woods, so the other two
may show latter.
Location is Dry Valley Road. Upon turning right from Paul Huff Parkway onto
DVR, head north to the last manufacturng plant on the left at the southeast
corner of the Cleveland Jetport property. I believe the plant is App. Opposite
is the farm where the geese are. Also seen were an estimated 40 Canada geese.
