TN birders, Couldn't sleep this am, so was on the road by 5:30am. Headed up Firetower Road at the foot of White Oak Mtn, and was rewarded by calling chuck-wills-widow and whip-poor-will, one each. Had the whip on the ascent, and the chuck on the descent. Also, had another chuck as well as a calling great horned owl at the top of a gravel drive at the extreme end of Owl Hollow Road near where it enters Hamilton Co. The driveway is barricaded, but has enough room to pull off the road safely. Also, had a early calling yellow-throated vireo about midway on Owl Hollow Rd. Most of the night birds called between 5:55 and 6:15 am EST. None of these were TN year birds, but all four were new for the county year list. David Chaffin Cleveland TN Bradley Co
